CHOPS Syndrome

Research

AFF4 Gene encodes a scaffold protein which is part of the so-called “super elongation complex”, see figure. Such protein has a key role in the transcription process from DNA to RNA. Mutations of the AFF4 gene are poorly studied and there are no treatments.

We are putting all our energies into promoting scientific research, in order to both identify basic molecular mechanisms and find a possible treatment.

The AFF4 protein is the scaffold protein of the Super Elongation Complex shown in this figure. Credit Image.
